PRAY Foundation Gala 2011

News

The fourth annual PRAY gala was yet again a spectacular evening. Music and comedy were interspersed with speeches and an auction.  All the guests who had come to India Palace in Scheveningen enjoyed the beautiful gala show.

On Saturday, the nineteenth of november, India Palace was transformed into an atmospheric venue, perfect for the gala. The guests were welcomed by our hostesses with a drink and beautiful harp music played by Gill Sexaur. During the gala there was a buffet dinner combined with jazz music.

The evening was packed with wonderful performances and inspirational talks. Pranav Bhagirath, fouder of PRAY, was the first to give his speech on the developments of PRAY over the past year and the plans for the future. Other speakers were Ronald Borst, teacher at Caland Lyceum, on the exposure project and Nanda Voortman, Head of HR Europe, BAT Industries about CSR.

This years auction was led by Manoj Arora. There was a beautiful collection of auction items. Amongst the items were a TomTom navigational system, an Indian tea set, an official Champions League football and a magnificent painting. Everyone was very enthousiastic about the items for sale and we could collect a lot of money for PRAY.

Throughout the evening there were three comical performances. Roel Verburg entertained our guests with three of his absurd and very funny songs. Jeroen Koster, the second stand-up comedian, had a little bit of difficulty performing in English, but despite of this, it was amusing. The last comedian was Adam Fields. His energetic and hilarious performance was the perfect closing number of the evening.

The enthousiasm from both guests and volunteers made this evening very memorable. We appreciate all of your reactions and feedback. We hope that we can welcome everyone again next year to match up to or even excel this years gala.
